Focus St225 Air Con Pump Not Working

Featured Replies

Hi. Does anyone know if the air con pump clutch can be changes on the focus st225 please?

I took it to get it re-gassed as It was Very low. There is voltage going to it but it doesn't spin up.

A mate said it's the clutch that's seized and they the complete unit vary in price from £65.00 to £110.00 but if I could just change the clutch it wouldn't need gassing up again.

Thanks.

Theres normally a thermal fuse behind the clutch plate on magnet pita to get to with the compresor on the car and a lot of potch to replace hence why most people will stick a new/recon one on. Theyre technically unservicable

Thanks for the reply mate. Tbh im really not sure if they are or not. I do have a part number pf the st air con pump that i need but not sure its the same or not. The part number i found on ebay was 3M5H-19D629-MK.

Scott this is what I have unfortunately I cannot make out the part number but looking on eBay the one that fits the 2.0 tdci is the same part number bar the end two letters yours being Mk this one should be HB what the difference is I don't know maybe someone else could shed some lightpost-29006-0-69393500-1401910043_thumb.jpost-29006-0-65210100-1401910053_thumb.jpost-29006-0-13250800-1401910062_thumb.jpost-29006-0-78304900-1401910072_thumb.j

if the old one has ceased you will need to flush the sysytem before fitting anything a mobile aircon specialist will flush the system and fit special filters to ensure fragments dont damage the new pump should any still bein the sytem if you simply fit the pump youll get about a month out of it trust me made this mistake with my passat and caused even more damage to the point it would cost £1300 to have the aircon fixed

Got a feeling by what I can see on eBay is the end two letters must refer to the position of the inlet outlet holes .

Thanks for the help guys. STEADS I think you could be right with the position of the ports. I'm trying to find out of the one you have will fit as I rather pay you for that than someone else.

No probs will try and get the part number off the other one I have on the car when I get in tomorrow

That looks a right mean machine is it sprayed that colour or is it wrapped .

  • Author

That's great. Thank you for checking it.

It's wrapped. It was already done when I bought it.

the belt is a 10pv belt 119mm diameter pulley part number 3m5h19d629mk 3msh19d629mj 3mshi9d629ml

the st uses the valeo dks-15d pump same part number the 2.0 tdci is a totally different pump wrong make pulley size etc check youreself http://www.autoairparts.co.uk/focus-mk2-16-i--25-st--25-rs-6685-p.asp

the mk2 1.6 pump is the same only if its a 06/06-01/08 model with a valeo dks 15-d pump with the part numbers listed above

Right that seems to have cleared that up lol

i keep the info as theres many different pumps on the focus depending on engine just incase i need it
