i assume you mean the centre arm rest box,

You can swap the centre section with one from a 2005 model straight swap and no box

My 1.6TDCi didn't have a pre-silencer as standard i thought only the 2.0TDCi had this.

Removing will give more rumble under the driver and passenger seats.

It has been done your best bet is getting a custom exhaust made up, cheaper in some respects and will work out better!
