Instrument Cluster Questions

Featured Replies

My headlight bulb on the cluster don't work. My lights turn on and i tried switching the bulb from another one but still the same. Actually i don't think my fog light cluster bulb don't work neither (if there is one).

I only got the car 1 week ago and it already had this problem.

Also the cigarette lighter don't work (fuse is ok).

Any thoughts?

Thanks

am having a problem with rear light cluster. when i brake the lights dim and the indicator fails also get a message on the dash telling me the tailgate is open. problem is worse in the winter so thinking it might be a bad earth somewhere but dont know where to start.

i had to sort out a similar prob on the misses dad's 206, (except for the tail gate message)... turned out to be the contact on which the bulb sat was rusted to hell, water getting in throu the cluster.... a wire brush, emery cloth a new bulb some and contact spray sorted out the problem... i gunked the cluster in just to be on the safe side, so no more water could get in....

Hey. I didn't want to start a new thread so i'm hijacking this one. My headlight bulb on the cluster don't work. My lights turn on and i tried switching the bulb from another one but still the same. Actually i don't think my fog light cluster bulb don't work neither (if there is one).

The focus MK1 does not have a headlight bulb on the instrument cluster for the main beam. There may be a headlight symbol on the instrument cluster but this is not active. There is only a headlight bulb on the instrument cluster for full beam and fog lamps.

Thanks for clearing that up. Any clue about the cigarette lighter not working? Even when i plug a phone charger in it, it doesn't work. there was a spark when i put a screwdriver in it though :P (don't have a multimeter)

Might just be the charger not working. Check to make sure you checked the correct fuse. Most chargers have a fuse within themselves as well.

Okay thanks. Will check again. Even the actual lighter doesn't work as well.

Andy, I have to say I think its the wrong attitude to say "I dont want to start my own thread so I will hijack yours". If you want help specific to your problem you should really start your own threads. As such I will seperate your request into its own thread and place it in the focus section.

if you got the car from a garage, take it back and get them to fix it. They have a responsibility to you for the first 6 months to prove that the fault was not there at the time of purchase, if it was, they have to fix it.

Ok thanks for that. I bought it privately so i can't do that. It's ok its just a couple of little things i'm being picky.
