rhanco1
Hi All, My 04 Fiesta 1.4 failed the MOT on omissions. The reading when idle was 1.4. It should have been 0.3. The garage wants to charge me £50 to put it on diagnostic machine but implied it was the lambda sensor. Is this correct and if so which sensor would it be. Front or back.
martyntdci
the lamba sensor should sit around the cat area on the exhaust system.... try a bottle of cataclean cost 11 quid from euro, this states to do amazing things with the whole combustion chamber, injectors and the whole exhaust system.. maybe giving it a service and a good Italian tune is in order? rhanco1
Just had service and motorway driving regularly. Drives really well. Only mild lurch when first started in the morning then no problems.

jeebowhite
Lambda sensor is certainly a likely falling point for that part of the MOT, definatey worth trying to give it a clean and boot it down the motorway. Failing that, you could have a leak somewhere, either the inlet manifold is partly damaged (split or crack) or perhaps a pipe or hose is split around the air intake (after the MAF sensor).
