Panel/air Filter + Exhaust For A Mk6 Tdci?

Featured Replies

Evening all,

Looking to do a couple more bits to my car before I'm reasonably happy with it and since I've got a couple quid spare I'm looking at inductions/exhaust..

If I were to go down the induction route I'm wondering whether it's better to get a pipe or just replace the stock filter that's in the car at the minute..

If I do the filter I'll probably end up getting the exhaust done as the sound of the diesel doesn't match it's looks.. However I'm completely clueless when it comes to exhausts (res/non res etc)

Any advice much appreciated!

In my opinion you will never get a diesel to sound really good - chances are if you make it loud it will just sound like a bus/ truck/ taxi

A panel filter is the way to go, and a remap/ bluefin

I have a completely straight-through exhaust/ with one "straight-through" silencer - its reasonably quiet, this is because the turbo cuts the sound down, you can bypass one/ some of the exhaust components with straight bits of pipe, its cheap and easy to do, when you know how

Alternatively just go for the remap/ bluefin and leave the rest as it is
