Bonnet Release Help!!

So, I have a ford fiesta 10 Reg. recently acquired in November, I seem to be having issues with the bonnet release under the steering wheel. Pulling on the latch doesn't seem to be shifting the bonnet, can anyone suggest something? I have tried to get under the bonnet to touch the yellow lever but unfortunately my fingers can't fit through such tight margins. as I'm trying to avoid the silly look of popping to the local garage for assistance! please bare in mind I'm

    Spray some WD40 through the grill onto the bonnet release mechanism.

    Then get someone to GENTLY press on the bonnet while you pull the release catch and they let go of the bonnet.
