Focus Mk2.5 Titanium Rear Bumper.

Featured Replies

My rear bumper needs respraying as it's had a few touch ups over the years.

Can anyone tell me how to remove/refit the bumper?

Also would anyone recommend as I'm taking it off to replace with a zetec s or st rear bumper?

I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Two screws underneath, two bolts in wheel arches and two bolts in the corners visible when the hatch is open.

A ZS bumper will look very good although it is just a standard Mk2.5 bumper with a diffuser trim stuck on.

The ST bumper fits easily but then you have to fill two exhaust spaces. (The ZS one doesn't need exhaust cut-out's).

Cheers stoney. So I could respray my bumper then get the zetec s diffuser and fit that to have the zetec s rear bumper?

I think I would go that way then as I like the zetec s bumper and it's going to be a cheaper option.

Would it look strange though as the rest will be just standard?

The ZS diffuser trim does sit around the corners of the bumper making it more chunky.

It's designed to line up with side skirts so may look uneven.

An option I've gone for (still to fit but hopefully within the next month) is this-

It's painted and ready to fit but may need sticking more firmly than the seller recommends.

I'm getting mine properly done by a body shop.

The original ZS diffuser is about £250 plus will need painting so add another £100 or so.

I've seen them before. They look good. Let us know how you get on with getting it fitted.

I suppose if I do the rear bumper I suppose I will have to do the rest. Lol.

The wife hates you lot for spending our money. Lol.

I will do and you're welcome ;).

My missus has given up saying anything when I do something else to my car.

Tip the two nuts in the wheel arch advisable to give them a liberal dose of wd or plus gas say a day before removal as they rust due to location you do t have to remove the whole wheel liner to access these either you take out two of the screws and it's flexible enough to fold away to get at the nuts and if you do happen to snap them all is not lost .

If you snap the bolt all you do is push the old one out then with nimble fingers you can put a bolt with washer on through the hole washer and nut other side don't use a nylock on the outer one as you will be able to tighten it down then you refit as normal again using nut and washer once it's in the hanger if the bottom sits proud you can do as I did get an angle drill and drill through the hanger into the plastic bumper bracket and use a self taper to bring it back into line .
