Boot Lamp Switch Location

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me where the switch is that activates the boot courtesy light

on a Focus Mk1 2002 plate.

The light is not working, yet the bulb tests out fine ?

Its part of the boot switch, on the catch there is an embedded switch that also tells the car if the boot is open or closed.

If you pop the boot and put the ignition on, do you see the boot ajar warning?

I suspect you will need to replace the catch assembly as the switch is embedded within, but before that, I would suggest drowning it in electrical contact cleaner, see if you can free a sticking switch.

Thanks for the reply. Oddly enough the red warning light does comes on when the boot lid is open? So the switch must be working correctly. Perhaps the bulb is faulty, but It tested "positive" for resistance between the bulb's contacts.

Does sound more like I put on the other thread, perhaps a blown fuse or a loose loom.
