Ewhite3
I've had my 59 plate ford focus titanium 1.6 automatic for 5 months now. Over the past week the car has lost power within 2 minutes of me starting it up and driving off. This only occurs when I leave a secure car park at work. It never happens first thing in the morning or at any other time. When I leave work I start the car up, put it into drive and within a couple of minutes it just dies on me, the engine management light comes on and I loose the steering. I put the car into park, then turn the engine on and restart it. It then seems to be fine. This has happened to me on 3 consecutive days now and as I said its only when I leave the car park. Does anyone know what this could be due to or why it keeps happening. Any suggestions welcome as I love this car and it's a shame this is happening only 5 months after me buying it. nazsky786
I'm not 100% sure what you prob is. However does your car start first time? And have you ever had the codes checked as you said engine light comes on. But with everything check the small things first. Lose connection etc etc.
martyntdci
as stated you are more better to get the code read and go from there really
jeebowhite
Check what gearbox you have, if you have the godforesaken ZF geargox, it could be early indiciation of its failing, and you really dont want that!
FOCA
Does the secure car park have a steep ramp you have to drive up? - there must be a reason it happens when you leave the car park that makes it different from other times
