Mk6 Ford Fiesta Finesse 2004 Central Locking Question

Hi Guys,

Had a quick look on these forums to try and get some clarity on this question. My 2004 fiesta finesse comes with 2 basic keys and its central locking just not remote. If i bought one of

and got it cut to use in my car can it be programmed to be used as a remote? A friend said it can be done switching the ignition on and off a load times but im not so sure. would it be easier taking it somewhere to get programmed?
