Mk4 Running Rough

Featured Replies

Let me start off by saying I know nothing about cars!

Pretty sure my fiesta is a mk4 (1997)... Correct me if I'm wrong!

Usually, when it's damp, it starts kinda unenthusiastically and on one occasion gave up completely. By that I mean when I start the engine it'll only rev to 3-400 revs and sit there barely ticking over.

Also, when it's hot (like recently), it starts kinda "lumpy" and shudders around to begin with and a lot of revs will wake of up and get it running proper!

This morning (what with it being hot and damp) it was barely running and for a few seconds I was putting my foot down and literally nothing was happening in terms of movement!

Any ideas what the issues could be and anything I could do to stop it behaving quite so crazy?
