I haven't got a photo of it but it does not take any boot space vs not having it as far as I can see.

the space where the spare wheel would have gone is partially filled with some polystyrene filler to stop the tyre wrecker kit moving about. I don't think having a spare wheel on board would take up any more space.

A spare tyre doesn't take up ANY boot space.. it lyes UNDER the boot (i.e. Beneath the flooring of the boot).

Go for the spare wheel mate--don't bother with the foam as it totally wrecks your tyres.

As JAR quite rightly states, it is under the floor in the boot so no space taken up at all.

Janet can still get all the pigging shopping in the boot (unfortunately) so no worries there. ;)

Don't know how late you can leave it before ordering--best check with your dealer sooner rather than later.

I do wonder if calling the tyre inflation kit a "Tyre wrecker" is not some slight misinformation.

Ford tell me that they repair all punctures free of charge and have no problem doing this if the kit has been used?

The dealer said they simply use a solvent to remove every trace of it?

They do tell me though that a few other tyre repair shops are not so forthcoming... they particulary quoted Kwikfit for instance.

Is there some other way that the kit may "wreck" the tyres im unaware of?

Have a spare, no noticable difference. as for altering your order, I tried to add something to mine and was told that once the car is contracted to be built, no alterations were allowed. If you have a friendly dealer they might supply the spare and kit for the factory option price post delivery.

Here are the photos... I think that everyone should have spare wheel - it is so useful in an emergency:P
