Fitted the bonnet lip, not happy with the fitment of it though (aftermarket part). So going to paint the OE one but broke the two end lugs.....will it still go on with strong tape?DSC_0021_zpsd4it2apm.jpg

You could bond it with Tiger Seal or 3M Tape,

A Genuine primer grey bonnet lip from for is 28 pounds

No probs Andy, I wouldn't bother with the lip from Eurocarparts....corners don't fit properly.....preped and primered the OE lip to go back on once painted. :-)

Ah ok noted, before you fitted your filter and blanking plate did you have little or very poor acceleration at very low revs ?

Also have you considered colour coding the rear view mirror?

I think it would tie in nicely with the membership window decal, because when the sun shines through, it would cast a shadow of the badge on the rear of the mirror, if the mirror was a light colour then the shadow would be more visible.

See here: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/22192-spraying-rear-view-mirror/?pid=125448

hard to keep them clean with the diesel but autosol is great stuff for polishing and protecting the surface,

A twin exit slash cut would be nice.

Heres the EGR blanking guide for the 1.6TDCi

http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/42915-guide-fitting-egr-blanking-plate-16tdci-engine/

You should see a slight increase in MPG from EGR blank/Delete

I recommend fitting a direct replacement performance induction filter, after you blank the EGR

Why?

Because when the EGR was in operation the engine took up to 30% of its induction from the exhaust,

Now the engine takes 100% fresh clean Induction from the atmosphere, so a less constrictive induction filter helps improve things along with EGR blanking.

Image2383.jpg

Stock filter inside:

Upgrade Filter Inside:

Image2392.jpg

A lot less restriction allowing the engine to breath more smoothly on a turbo engine also helps increase MPG see my Guide on Green Cotton Performance Induction, it has a 10% Discount code aswell:

http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/36783-green-cotton-performance-induction-filter-fitting-guide/

Blanking the EGR also prevents excessive amounts of Carbon build up in your engine oil,

It is the build up of carbon which slowly builds up around the "turbo oil feed pipe" restricting the flow of oil feeding to the turbo,

Which ultimately leads to turbo failure,

So after you have blanked/Deleted the EGR valve, i recommend using a Can of "Wynne's Engine Flush" on your next oil change,

The can costs less than 5 GBP

It breaks down the built up carbon and sludge inside the engine caused by the operations of the EGR,

I've used Wynne's engine flush many times and found it very effective, always follow instructions.

Here's a link: http://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-fluids/fuel-oil-additives/wynns-engine-flush-for-diesel-425ml

After blanking i recommend upgrading your induction filter if you haven't already done, see guide here aswell as 10% Discount off Green Cotton Performance Induction:

No problem,

I've created a total of 28 guides for the focus, you can see a list of links on my profile page, just click on my aviator picture to view,

Regarding the Induction filter anything is better than stock, after blanking your EGR,

I plan to eventually upgrade mine to a K&N 57S after i get married,

They have dropped in price:

http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/271238138352?nav=SEARCH

I know the listing says "RS" but its exactly the same fit for our mk2.5 1.6TDCi bigger lid section housing bigger filter aswell as side port induction, ultimate enclosed air box upgrade.

I too would like an intercooler upgrade but awaiting to see reviews from others before investing myself.
