FSoft
My Fiesta was okay until last week. Started the engine and had a large puff of black smoke from the exhaust. Tried to accelerate, but car will do only a max of 20 mph. Mechanics at ford have had a look and say they cannot find the fault after changing umpteen parts incl the EGR valve. Looks like a new car required. Anyone?

Lenny
is this to unleash all those extra ponies?aw huh can you imagine the potential martin would be a 80-90% increase in peak performance, Take it from "Model T" to "Audi TT" Id try gutting the ceramic dpf and remapping it seriously. Lenny
Do you know anyone with the same motor? If yes, Park side by side, Start engines, Put your hand over there exhaust pipe to feel pressure, Then feel yours, If yours is less, Then theres a restriction in the dpf chamber, New 2009 onwards dpf are ceramic and dont have any eloys fluid or any sensors atall, There for no errors logged on the system, nothing to detect blockage, Ive had mine gutted, cut open on factory weld, Internal removed, Sealed back up (re weld) All looks stock for the MOT and car runs great no smoke, Also blank your egr. jeebowhite
Have you had any error codes read out? restriction to 20mph indicates there is a catastrophic failure somewhere! is it a manual or auto? how do the revs behave in this mode?
