Mk7.5 Secret Compartment?

Featured Replies

Hi

Has anyone attempted to get into the secret compartment ever since they facelifted the mk7?

Wouldn't be surprised if no one has, since the passenger airbag light is housed there. But just out of curiosity, and under the possibility of wanting to paint mine as the ST's aren't gloss!

Had a brief attempt but seemed more difficult than I remember last time in a mk7!

Thanks

Did you ever get this sorted? I've just found this post via google after trying to remove mine - don't want to snap the plastics!

You can remove it, prize it from the top on the right and left carefully. It gives in and pulls down and out.

I changed mine to gloss recently

Just unplug the airbag light and you can tuck the plug out of the way.

Use a pry tool if you can get one, a plastic one :)

Plastic bicycle tyre levers are ideal as trim tools and cheap too ;)

What secret compartment? The one on the right of the steering wheel? Above the bonnet release catch? That's a tight little beggar to open!

No, it's the panel between the heater controls & hazard light switch.

Oooh I didn't know anything about this secret compartment, have you got any pictures? Just so I don't break something that's not supposed to be moved lol
