Central Locking Help Please....

Featured Replies

Hi I have a 2000 "X" Focus and the central locking has just begun to play up. The key wont operate the central locking remotely - I have tried new battery then programming it to car again. When I try to lock manually it locks then immediately unlocks. I have checked Fuse 63 and replaced - though it looked ok. Ive undone the green and blue cable from the Siemens locking module for an hour then put back in. I have just borrowed a scanner and it has come up with "B1600 Passive anti theft system ignition key Transponder Signal is not received".

Any help would be very much appreciated as I cant leave it anywere now.

Thanks again

Hi, I had a similar problem with my focus, went to work one day and could not lock the car, I did not worry as parking is safe at work, when I got home I had a good look around , and found that the bonnet switch had failed, I just unplugged it and bridged it with a bit of wire, I still have not replaced it, but the car locks fine now, this may not help you but it is a good place to start looking.

Ah ive tried everything i can think of and still no joy.... Anyone else any ideas please......

that error code seems to be a red herring.

Basically when it does this, it means either bonnet, boot or doors are not working correctly.

Start off by disconnecting the central locking (pull fuse or whatever). Then go round and try to lock each door from the outside, or inside where applicable, then try open the door. if any door has a bad lock this will help you to narrow it down.

ah it gets worse ive played with the doors and now the rear nearside door is permanently locked and will not open at all gutted

Sounds like a jammed solanoid or deadlock.
