alhastdci
Hi guys currently I've got 17" standard alloys on the focus n wanted to know if the 19" rs alloys would fit straight on or would the arches need working? Thanks in advance for the help Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
Stoney871
The RS has much wider arches so new RS wings would be required You'd need spacers and probably higher suspension too. You'd need a rack limiter kit also to stop the front wheels hitting the arches on full lock. Sent from my S5
Stoney871
Another point to consider is that your speedo would under read by about 5mph too. Sent from my S5
alhastdci
Thanks for the help mate...just seen some 18" rs style would they be the same? Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
Stoney871
You'd still be needing a limiting kit and posibly spacers. Sent from my S5
jeebowhite
As Clive said, its the width of the wheel and tyre itself is greater than that of a standard wheel. Steering Limiter kit and adjusted suspension should prevent you causing unnecessary damage to the car.
alhastdci
Decided to keep the wheels but get them a lower profile tyre, refurbed and sprayed :) happy days! Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
jeebowhite
Good result! just dont forget, changing the overall circumference of the wheel will affect your speedo, you can update the instrument cluster to reflect this - this can be done by a modified ELM cable. troy45
You could probably have gotten away with the 18" RS replicas as these are only the same size as other upgrade wheels/higher spec wheels for the Focus, 18x7.5's from memory. If the standard wheels are ET52.5 offset the RS 19" wheels may well fit in the arches, I know they do on an ST but the steering rack may be different so there could be lock to lock rubbing issues. But you'd definitely need spacers on the fronts as the pukka RS wheels do have ET60 offset and it's likely the spokes will clash with the front calipers otherwise. Plus switcing to 19's the cost of tyres takes a fair jump too. Speedo accuracy/tyre sizes is a bit hit and miss anyhow as different brands of tyre will vary in dimensions even for the same stated size. You could always switch the dash test mode on and get a speedo vs revs reading for a certain gear then tweek the calibration settings to make this match with your new wheel & tyre combo.

troy45
No problem, yours will be lot quicker to clean than the RS style ones in any case ;)
