darude Posted July 1, 2009 Share Posted July 1, 2009 Well I got my Nokia 6220 Classic now.... I can't seem to get bluetooth Audio/Music player thing to work. I press AUX twice, and nothing happens. USB is out. Yes I know, I could use USB, but I'm fussy and wanna try all these little gadgets out! :-) I definitely don't see a Mobile Navigation option, but another thread said that's not an option for any Fiesta before July 09. I brought the Nokia 6220 Classic because of all these added features...... somebody please show me how to bring out the whole bluetooth shabang. I have an iPod nano 2g (2007) without bluetooth.. I saw some A2DP extension module (BT 2.0) on eBay for iPod, according to you is it possible to sync it with the Fiesta and play my old iPod music with the head unit ? ddub Posted September 24, 2010 Share Posted September 24, 2010 Having looked a bit further into it, it seems that you can tell if the stereo supports bluetooth audio if the keys on the numberpad are alpha numeric, rather than just numeric on the older models like I have. prolix Posted September 27, 2010 Share Posted September 27, 2010 Hi ddub, Can you tell me how you found this out? I am having the same issue where I cant get the car to play any music via BT. I have tested my iPhone 4, a Samsung and a Nokia 5230 and NONE play. Each phone connects successfully to the car, can make a receive calls, and believe they are playing music via BT, but the car itself doesn't play anything. Took it to the garage and was told the audio engineer was able to connect and play music fine, but I have my doubts. A question for all members: If the bluetooth module and the radio were both updated with the latest software, would all my radio stations and BT bonded phones still be there or would it all be wiped? cosmicdave Posted November 14, 2010 Share Posted November 14, 2010 I have an 09 Fiesta without the usb port and I cannot stream from my Android to the car. However, if I am on a phone call through the sound system, anything else working on the phone, such as Sat Nav directions, comes out over the phone call at the same time, so it is working. However there is no option to initiate a stream from the Droid, it only works when a phone call is happening... The prob I have, is that the Droid thinks it's sending via b/tooth and so won't use the 3.5mm jack, unless I turn bluetooth off, and then I can't use the sound system for phone calls! Aarrhgghh! prolix Posted January 25, 2011 Share Posted January 25, 2011 Hey all, Just an update with my BT iPhone 4 issues. Brought it to garage and they said there were no updates. Even rang Ford and they couldnt tell me if it would or wouldnt work for BT music streaming. So i brought it back to garage again and they had a different audio specialist in. When he checked first, there were no updates, but then he realised there was a software update for the computer they hook the car up to. He updated that, and hey presto, 3 updates for my car appeared. One for the BT module One for the radio One for the display screen So my advice to anyone with this issue is to go back to your garage and get them to check for updates. My car was built in Sept '08 so in theory that means even the early production run cars should be able to play music via BT. Good luck! I had the same problem and took my car to the dealers, they also told me there were no updates available, my iPhone 4 would play music via BT intermittently which was frustrating to say the least! Can you make a receive calls via BT? If so then your car should have the ability to receive streamed music. It really does seem to depend on how good the audio guy in your garage is. I had to take mine in 3 times for the issue to be sorted. The first two times i think all they did was connect their own phone to it and make a call. Im sure they thought i was stupid. They just didn't get what i was trying to explain to them. So it might be worth a try either speaking to their audio guy in person, or bringing it to another garage? Good luck! It won't be - Audio Streaming (bluetooth with A2DP) works, but it requires a lot more processing than simple playback - and then you need Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) to actually get track info / switch tracks etc. and a good signal between car and phone. For long journeys you're going to have to have at least a USB cable to charge your phone, so why not use that to play back? Simples. That said, the following phone OS's and versions support A2DP (Source Wikipedia): BlackBerry - Supports A2DP in Operating System 4.2. iPhone and iPod Touch - All iPhones support HFP and PBAP. Version 3.0 of the operating system added support for A2DP, limited AVRCP and PAN for iPhone 3G/3GS and iPod Touch 2nd/3rd generation only. iPod Touch 2g is now compatible with headsets that use the PAN profile.[3] Original iPhone (iPhone 2G) bluetooth chip can provide A2DP as well, but Apple decided not to enable it. However, A2DP can be enabled in a jailbroken iPhone 2G by a special utility. Windows Mobile (previously Pocket PC): Version 4.0 and newer via a Widcomm third party add on. Version 5.0 and newer (with AKU 2.0), thus far based on the Windows CE 5.0 kernel, fully support A2DP if an appropriate device is present. Windows Phone 7: Supports A2DP 1.2. Ben which ford dealer was this. Did they explain why it is only possible with option 4 and not option 3. Surely if you have a bt module they can update the firmware for both the bt and radio. I spoke to a ford technician who told me that there is a USB which is situated somewhere behind the glovebox and this is how they update the firmware. And I said surely the same bluetooth module is used. The bluetooth audio would just need activating so that when AUX is pressed twice it works. The phone already syncs with bluetooth for the handsfree. But they said because all the stereos are factory setup, the wiring for the Bluetooth audio is not in place, only for the handsfree. caveman Posted February 12, 2011 Share Posted February 12, 2011 Im booking mine in soon, The ford Tech I spoke to is looking into this for me and trying see what can be done I.E upgrade the BT module loom ETC. On speaking to him he is going try play the problem as a fault so if he can upgrade the spec of the BT module he will. I am going to book it in for next week he asked for a couple of days to play around with some of the cars at the dealership before I brought mine in.
