looking to get a good tax disc holder. Been looking at the rich brook ford ones.

has anybody any pics of their disc holders installed on car?

I'm looking one with the ford logo or the focus sketch on back in either Black or Silver. Its going on a Mk2.5 moon dust silver focus so not sure what color would look better from the outside I'm thinking Black. I will need 2 one for the MOT and one for the Tax discs so where anywhere I can get the best price would be great.

I was thinking of modding one as in just buying the standard twist type with the rich brook logo and then getting a ford logo sticker to go over! lol! just an idea though not sure if it would hold up but you never know.

Yep it gets scrapped in october so a waste of money

I was also gonna say from October you don't have to display it any longer, all done on computers now if Police check plate,

I can't wait to get rid of it and have a nice clean looking windscreen.

On more than one occasion, I've pulled mine off to clean the screen and found it on the floor a few days later...oops lol

The paper disc is being withdrawn, as from October 2014.

However any renewals from now on will still get issued with a paper disc until that particular disc runs out.

"From 1 October 2014, the paper tax disc will no longer need to be displayed on a vehicle windscreen."

No you can still do it by post or at the post office. Nothing is changing except the lack of paper disc as everything is checked automatically on the database against your registration.

Police cars ANPRs have been picking lack of tax disc up for years without needing to look for one in the windscreen. From the link I posted:

You can tax the vehicle using the New Keeper Supplement (V5C/2) part
of the vehicle registration certificate (V5C) online or by phone - 24
hours a day, 7 days a week.

Alternatively, you may wish to visit a Post Office® branch.

That would be a no.

Everything is electronic now, tied to the car reg. You don't even need to be picked up by ANPR, if the DVLA database detects no road tax or no MOT and the car is not SORN then you get an automatic letter (and eventually penalty).

Currently in NI its a requirement to display an MOT disc I wonder will this be dropped for us along with tax disc
