john j Posted July 13, 2014 Share Posted July 13, 2014 Hello everyone, ive just bought an 06 1.6 tdci zetec cmax. All the gears are a bit notchy hot or cold, particularly 1st. I took the cover off bottom of gearstick and noticed that there is like this pinky coloured soapy waxy type lubrication on the ball at the base of the gearstick also on linkage rod connections. Does anyone know if you can put any old grease on or wether you have to use something special. In due course i will be taking cover off beneath engine and inspecting linkages at gearbox end.
