A Couple Of Issues I Need Some Advice For Please :)

Hello my name is Paul.

I have a 07 plate 1.6 ghia with 57000 on clock, that i will be doing some work on in the very near future and would like some advice on a couple of issues im having.

Firstly is a strange noise when accelarating. I can only hear it with the windows down and is more prominent when the engine is under more load, ie; when going uphills or accelerating hard. It's like a rattle but i can't pin point where it's coming from. I'm hoping its just heat shield or exhast slightly loose. Has anyone had similar issues?

Secondly is the central locking. it seems to be trying to engage when driving, I'm sure it is the safety locking mechinism, But it is not actually locking the doors. And it does it at random speeds too. I was aware it is supposed to engage at about 5mph but sometimes it doesn't lock for my whole journey, and sometimes i can hear it trying to lock every few minutes. It's starting to drive me nuts!

Any advice would be much appretiated.
