Ford Focus Titanium Mk3.5 Facelift

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

How hard or difficult is it to fit TPMS retrospectively, from what I can gather from another

forum there are sensors built into valve covers that senses the tyre pressures

and then sends to the system wirelessly...

My question is, has system already got the necessary firmware/software

built in, or do I require anything else in addition to valve sensors

Regards

Tyre pressure monitor uses the ABS sensors. It is only a piece of software (or option that needs enabling).

Not sure what that has to do with the MK3.5 facelift though....?

Hi Alex

Thanks for that info, when I get back from my trip over weekend

will have a bit trawl on net, see if anybody has enable through

abs sensors on a Mk3.5, maybe its a laptop plugin to obdc port

maybe preee/paul might have some input ??

Hmmm maybe im wrong in Mk's I though post 2011 were Mk3.5

so mine must be a Mk3 sorry for confusion, having said that how

do I get TPSM to work on mine then ?

Go into menu/drivers aids then ?

Yes a 2012 Focus will be a MK3 :)

If it is not included with your car, the only way would be with something like an IDS.

I don't know if it is possible to enable it after the factory though.

Hi Alex

Whilst I was away I went into drivers aid menu, there is only two options

traction control on/off, and hill assist on/off, so it must be a software fix

to toggle on abs/tyre pressure monitor ?? that's my assumption...

Yeah if the feature was not spec'd for your car at the factory then the only way to turn it on is with a Ford IDS.

It may be possible to add it retrospectively, sometimes files can be made to enable certain features, but I don't know much about it personally.

Hi Alex

Thanks for that info, I know my local Auto Electrics dealer

has the necessary reader, not sure if he can enable

it though, if its not already there in the software !!!
