Mine was this:

A 1993 Peugeot 309 1.9D Zest.

I actually loved this car. Had it from March 2008 (even though I didn't pass my test til June) and had to sell it in September 2008 as I lost my job and had no money to run it. I miss that car, bought it for £700, had one owner from new who was a local elderly man. Only had 80K miles on the clock (92K when I finished with it), and it was immaculate. I still see it quite often. :D

You?

my first car (i.e. not my Dad's) was around 1981. It was a dark blue 1971 Ford Escort Mk1. It started life as am 1.1l or and "eleven hundred" as we called it in those days but gradually became a "thirteen hundred" Sport. It was a complete pile of !Removed! but I loved it..... It died in about 1983 when the floor fell out.... happy days

Crikey, I can just about remember the old Moggy too.

Moggy convertibles were about as rare as rocking horse sh*t but quite valuable--especially if you had a good one.

The estate or "woody" was quite rare as well because the wood used to rot on the frame!

My first car was an Escort 1300 GT Mk 1 in red and I loved it! :)

mine was a classic car, I didnt want a eurobox at the time, 1965 "C" reg Lotus Cortina mk1 (with airflow ventilation. ,wwwhhhhoooooooo) ooooooohh i just loved that car,it was stunning, sold it when I had company cars and thought it better to be used by someone rather than rot away in the garage no driver aids, no power steering, rear wheel drive, just 1558 cc twin cam from a lotus elan under the bonnet, with twin weber 40 dcoe twin choke carbs, which sounded gorgeous, slow by todays standards about 107 max MPH, but for 1965 it was the RS of its day, 4 speed, had limited slip differential, and proper rear suspension ,rather that the fragile "A" frame type on the earlier cars. and by the way it only came in this colour from the factory, ermine white/lotus green stripe, no other choice was available. mk1LotusCortina.jpg

Hey, nice car Kristal.

The Lotus Cortina was the business and I'd loved one of those.

Even by today's standards, that's a true classic--no pigging ESP or traction control on that--you just relied on your driving skills--awesome! B)

Well, my first car was a lovely white Skoda 136 Rapid, registration was H503 AMM. My dad gave it to me though, so perhaps it doesn't count.

In which case, my first car, that I purchased, was a metallic black Renault Clio RT 5dr, with a 75bhp 1.4 litre engine. Reg was J368 NHA and I bought it one month after my 18th birthday. I loved it, kept it for two years and somehow managed to drive 40,000 miles in it!

My first car was a Datsun Cherry 100a as in the pic below, except mine was silver. It was totaly abused and still ran ok after the radiator went kaput and heat siezed the engine lol, it also wouldn't start after a few weeks as the points used to close up and you had to reset them lol.

Oh and don't get me started on vinyl seats....shorts were a definate no go in summer <_<

I sold that about a week or two before my test, then i passed my test first time but had no car , i was gutted , even though it was amicra it was still better than having no car like i did for about two weeks, then i bought this a Renault clio, which i still miss a little, ive got a soft spot for it lol since then ive had a red tdci fiesta zetec s, and now my white 1.6ti-vct zetec s, heres a couple pics of the clio if anyones interested, Im car mad, been driving 2 years this month and am on my 4th car.

Not the greatest of photos , car was brighter than pics show it to be, pics were taken when car was standard , i did "chav" it up abit,i got tinted windows and it also had about 4 sets of different alloys while i had it, and some lowering springs went on it briefly. Sorry to post an essay lol

My first car was a standard K reg Jade coloured 106 XT 1.1, called Jade surprisingly, I loved her! Bought her for £750 and sold her a year later for £500 to some old dear.

Then I got given a 106 XS 1.4. I loved it (it's an acquired taste I know) it used to belong to my ex who sadly passed away in 2005. I kept it for as long as I could but it just wasn't practical and since it even got broken into on my driveway I got too scared to used it and leave it anywhere, so for the last year it was sat on my drive :( I ripped out the ICE install to sell and it's gone away to a mechanic friend to do with what he likes! As I used to be a regional leader of the PGAC and I was hugely into the Peugeot moddy scene the 106 was taken to a few shows including FCS (French car show) and Donny north. I miss those days!

I had one of these in Navy blue, that when I washed got lighter and lighter until it became light blue all over lol, had vinyl seats and flooring and I had to use a bucket to get rid of the pools of water that gathered in the footwell when it rained, but I loved it:
