Changed battery but still got same issue. Read the codes and got the following ? Does this confirm the BCM ? post-56513-140596576738_thumb.jpgpost-56513-1405965790_thumb.jpgpost-56513-140596581746_thumb.jpg

I did have a play with the connectors (up plugged and put back in ) on the BCM , so not sure if any of the faults are due to that. Any feedback greatly welcomed ! Thanks

Do the indicators work when you put them on?

There is a issue with the GEM. If you made sure all the connectors are secure then you would have issue with gem

Hi yer indicators work but not when all the lights light up , but saying that the radio doesn't either. I've push and pulled on all the wires in the blue connectors , all pins look clean and in good condition. Even gave everything a good wiggle including all fuses and nothing recreated the fault.

But I did notice today if you break erasable hard the handbrake light now comes on too. Whatever the problem is it's getting worse and more frequent.

Green connector then as you may have a power issue.

Mate think you've helped me find the fault ! Tried to remove the green connector and it would come out !!! Just spend 30 mins wiggling it back and fourth to get it to release. Water ingress shorted out your live positive cable. Get a new one and use silicone paste. But dammm that's bad really bad. I'm suprised how bad it is. You need to find the water leak if you have one that's a lot of water. But silicone paste will stop it happening again.

Remember from before what I said when replacing the gem as you will have to as that one looks gone.

Yes mate thanks , couldn't see any water ingress until I finally got the green connector off ! Floor has never been wet though which is strange :-/

Time to find a new GEM !!

Also thought I'd add it's bone dry in the connectors and fuse board so not sure if it's a prehistoric water leak that's corroded over time maybe ?!

Do you think the c max will have the same gem ?

Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

Maybe. Get new gem and use silicone paste. Hopefully your issues will be gone.

It does have same but best to use a focus titanium one. You want it to be easy as just swapping them over.

Take the code off the back of the bcm and do a search on ebay or car breaker sites for a matching number.

Best to go for an exact match as you don't want to be adding other problems to your situation by getting a bcm that doesn't support your car's configuration.

So if I get one with the matching code it should be the same config ?

Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

There's loads coming up on ebay for £25 +pp.

Search for focus ghia fusebox.

If you can't find the exact match for your unit then try messaging the seller.

From Ford you'd be looking silly money.

So if I get one with the matching code it should be the same config ?

The codes are specific to the configuration of each model.

You may find that ghia and upwards are one code and below that will be different.

Thanks mate , just found one with same code for £40 including postage. So gonna give that a go. Thanks to both of you for the help , doubt I'd have found the fault otherwise !!

I would personally go for a high trim gem. I've done it with no issues. I have my old gem if you want it. But it's from a lx.

Biggest props to Nazsky, he figured the bcm error.

Glad the problem has been identified, let us know how you get on once you swap boards and fuses.

Back again guys , had a look at the connectors today in the light and I need the big green connector as it's damaged too. Anyone know where I can get one please ? Thanks

It's part of a complete loom to the front engine bay fuse box. That's alot of work to replace. Is it not possible for it to be cleaned? Tooth brush and drain cleaner rub it in and wash it the blow dry. But with battary disconnected.

I've given it a clean out but it's a bit melted !! Might be ok but just wanted to be safe.
