Checked it again this morning and it's been stood for 48hours and since I wiped it down it hasn't dripped. Still going to take for the health check.

Hopefully it will be sorted for Ford Fair :). I was going to say bad timing, but at least you didn't find the leak the day before driving down to Silverstone haha.

I know. Like u say hopefully be sorted as that will be the furthest she has been and we have to leave there at dinner to go to a christening in Southampton. Then a 5 and half hour drive back home through the night :)

Not driven her at night yet be interesting to see what the interior LEDs like as I know it has a couple red ones like above glove box etc.

After checking still wasn't leaking. Went for a quick blast got back left for about half hour. Small leak on the card again :S

It's leaking under pressure so won't leak when left standing only when the engines been given a blast.

Doesn't sound good, hopefully Ford can find a solution. I'm sure they would know it's a week til Ford Fair so make sure they see how urgent it is :)

Yer well ford will sort it or I'll be spanking !Removed!! Lol just wanted to do a couple test for my curiosity/make it easier for them to sort it. Probably won't be done for ford fair tho. My ford garage has this thing we're they locate the problem and then re book it in for like the week after why they can't just fix there and then I don't know lol

Doesn't sound like it's leaking too bad Nath so you should be fine for Ford Fair, just get underneath and clean it when you get there

  • Author

Well I'll be coming regardless. I've got breakdown cover I think as I think u get it standard on new cars. Plus my insurance has it too

You get Ford Assist for 12 months and its renewed if you service with them

Cool :) I'll be okay then :) maybe just purchase some oil incase need a top up but still on the full mark :)

Good idea but it sounds like its pretty minor or you would notice the level dropping and see spots all over your drive

  • Author

Oh it is very minor. But cause it's brand new want it right. If was on my old car if just ignore it and keep eye on the level lol

Update. Well today I took car to ford and they have located the problem it's a crack in the turbo pipe apparently. There going to book me in as soon as part in stock as I said I need it doing before ford fair. Then they said that if it doesn't come in don't worry cause it won't effect anything as it's on the return side. But to maybe keep a eye on the oil level (witch hasn't altered in a 1000miles).

Having no knowledge on things like this does this sound okay ??

I've no idea but if it's not affected you so far then I guess you'll be ok. At least you've got it diagnosed. Bit of a worry when pipes are breaking though

If it is only your turbo oil return feed hose then it's not under pressure so won't leak a lot which explains, like they said just make sure it's always got oil and it's fine.

  • Author

Ah cool :) gonna drive it regardless I said to them if I brake down will ford assist get me home and they said yes. So I said that's okay then I'm not bothered when it's done as long as it is eventually. Like u say tho Phil worry that a month old car splits. All I can think is that it's been split from factory maybe faulty part.

It's good to at least know what the problem is. And if they say it's ok to drive then then you don't need to worry really, anything that happens will be covered by the warranty.

  • Author

That's what I thought. And they said that if it was even slightly risky driving it without damaging anything they wouldn't let me have it back. So guess that means something lol

UPDATE :

After waiting what seemed like for ever for ford to call me and say the part was here I decided to call them. Only for them to tell me that it was here last week :S so anyway took it in this morning and had the turbo tube replaced.

But since them the car has been far more responsive and Better acceleration so I wondering cause this will of been a problem from day one that maybe I've been driving her about and thinking she quick when actually she wasn't as quick as ment to be :) very happy today might even go for a ride out tonight :)

Good to hear that it's fixed, well more than fixed by the sound of it :)
