I thought it might help others when buying a new car to know what the going price is, doesn't matter what dealer you got it from just what you got.

I got the following

June 2009

Fiesta Zetec 1.4 5 door

no metalic paint blazer blue

no other mods apart from free bluetooth

List £13,095

Paid £11,500

Also for an up to date target price look at whatcar.co.uk my target was £11,607 so managed to beat that.

I'd say it is - there are better prices out there than that, a good price but it's about what I'd expect to pay -

Fiesta 3dr Titanium, 1.6 Ti-VCT, Frozen White, X Pack, Tech Pack, Rear Park Assist, Dress-up-kit

Paid £13900

Added scuff plates and pedals myself - £14000 meaning that I could add the Eibach springs and metallic paint and come out around the same, although admittedly for the petrol, not the diesel.

Motability again:-

Fiesta Titanium 1.6 tdci - £700 (the non refundable deposit payable by me)

USB - £200

Motability are Europes biggest fleet and they get massive dicounts off the cars. For example my current Hyundia Coupe 2.0L S111 - list price £18500. Motability paid £11500 (i have a copy of the invoice supplied to them). The point of my comments is to help people buying the fiestas, it is well worth being pushy with your dealer and do your research, there is room to get money knocked off these cars if you can go in with confidence and knowledge of the market. I would strongly advise that you throw in the names of some other dealers in your area when you are chatting and let them chase you with the offers.

And it is the biggest discount that I think I have ever got off of a car so happy with my discount even if it would seem that I have not secured as good a deal as I could have got!

Nice!

So as it's either over 10 years old, or coming up to it, are you going to use 'Scrappage' and bag yourself a new Fiesta with at least a £2k discount? ;)

Funny you should say that, it qualifies for the scrappage in October (I think), not sure how much it will save me on a new car Ford though. And the other week I was thinking about it. I put a few pros and cons together and I realised it's probably not the right time for me to get a new car.

Pros:

- I do get a brand new Fiesta (that's the car I'd get).

- No MOTs for 3 years.

- A warranty (something I've never had because I've always bought privately).

Cons:

- I've got quite attatched to this car.

- The finance/insurance payments. This is the main factor to stop me doing it. I'm currently paying £1,400/year for my car's insurance, because I'm only 18. I can afford that fine, not too sure if I can afford that AND the finance payments though. :(

Oh well. Maybe in the next couple of years when I get some NCBs.
