Diesel Or Super Diesel

Featured Replies

So I was wondering what peoples thoughts on super diesel to normal stuff. I'll start.

I tried super diesel for about a month and I found that it didn't perform any better. If anything my mpg dropped by 2-3 mpg doing the same journey.

So I'm asking what your thoughts and reviews if any? Perhaps you've had a remap and would like to share your thoughts if you have you both fuels.

I've used super unleaded and it works well

So what are your thoughts?

Pretty pointless on a 1.6 IMO. I don't even use super on my 2.0

It has been shown to improve economy for some people but I don't think the gains justify the increased cost.

As long as you don't use supermarket city diesel then any standard diesel should be fine on our "normal" engines.

ive used shell v power diesel twice on my tdci, once before remap and again after and tbh ive not felt any noticable changes, gotta fill up soon so just going back to fuel save.

I use bp ultimate but dont really see any difference so going back to standard bp diesel. Got dpf so will run cleaner through it now and then. Can get it cheap enough of flea bay.

Good responses.... I use fuel save and no but also from time to time I've used supermarket diesel as I've had no choice. But car get serviced regularly and treated with great care an attention. So you had virtually no differencees between the fuels and the maps. My car is getting mapped soon so I wasn't sure whether to change fuels like you would with a petrol to get better gains?

Keep them coming in should be an interesting conversation?

I've not felt any different. Couldn't say about miles cause I forgot what I got from a tank of normal n my focus doesn't have trip computer

At the moment im getting about 145mls to a quarter tank just driving around town. Will see what I get from the normal diesel. Had not so good experiences with supermarket fuel I steer well clear of that stuff.

I think roughly about 150 to a 1/4 of tank. city driving.
