Does any one no the size of LEDs used in the radio unit as I'm planning on changing mine??? Or even know where I'll find out?

They are SMD's

Unless you know exactly what you are doing with those avoid, requires a very skillfull solder person.

I did it on my old Clio ( check out crazyleds ) you only get one shot to do it right otherwise you melt the bulb and mess the board up.

Still fun to do though, if you do it get a model painting magnifier, makes it much easier.

Yeah, I know but it's finding the correct size that's the problem. I've done plenty of soldering before, I use to change the LED's/add rapid fire in the Xbox controllers and sell them... Yeah, I've good one, there pretty helpful

correct they are SMD search google for a SMD led sizing guide and you will see the vairous charts

ive changed these many times, be sure to get the polarity correct before soldering and as said before ensure quick soldering as too much heat can burn both the copper tracks and the SMD

from looking at those pictures i would say they are SMD 0805's they are cheap to buy and come in various colours, make sure that once all of them are changed over, just dab 12V (again the correct polarity) over the LED to verify the correct colour before fitting into your car etc

I will do :). I'm not sure get I still need to find the size of SMD's. Think I might go for white though

Go on crazyleds site they sell kits on there for the car and not just the radio. Issue is with these they have a polarity on them marked generally by a slit on one of the corners for positive, manufacturers don't do this and you have no real way of telling, get it wrong and it's stuck and a lot of hassle. I did notice with the clios board if you just placed the smd in place and touched the board with the soldering iron it put a positive current into it, you are the negative and the bulbs very dimly lit up, was the only way I could tell which way they went.

Okay, I'll have a look cheers. Yeah there's not really any other way of getting the correct polarity so I'll just need to test them before soldering in place
