Put your hand in behind the wheel arch mud guard, theres one nut to be removed from both sides,

Take care removing these as the bolt head is submerged inside the bumper bracket,

Should the nut get stuck, the bolt can begin to rotate freely causing difficulties for removal,

See rear diffuser fitting instructions here:

No need to remove bumper to fit it,

I have some pics of bumper removal ill link tomorrow,

If planning to drive without the bumper for a while see my guide here:

thats correct yes,

Remove the nut then the bolt attached to the bumper should pull out along with bumper out of position and off the car along with the bumper

also when u say

Should the nut get stuck, the bolt can begin to rotate freely causing difficulties for removal

what happens if it does ?

would wd40 make it easier before i start

If the bolt starts rotating then it's knackered.

The bolt is embedded into the plastic of the mounting bracket, after removal you could try glueing it in but probably better to get a new bracket.

This requires riveting to the bumper though.

Just so you can orientate yourself, these pictures show the bracket mounting bolt and plastic locating pin as it should be and how it looks when the darned bolt rips out (as some wiseguy did to the facelift bumper I bought for my MK2 for my current project)-

As the bolt should look-

Copious WD40 and a gentle hand is very important indeed.
