One Touch Windows

Featured Replies

Is it me or is this just weird...

On my focus (3 Door) I have one touch drivers side down only. No one touch up and neither down/up for passenger side.

Is it possible to change the module to make them both up/down?

It is a bit of a sod! I didnt like that at all about my Focus, thankfully the Mondeo has all the windows one touch both ways...

You could possibly swap the switch itself of the passenger side for a driver switch and see if that works?

Think you will need diffrent motors and module for it. But then it still might not be programmable. Depends what the module says it can and cant do

4 door models with all electric windows can be programmed for one touch up and down as is the case on my 07 Ghia. Also have the ability to raise or lower all 4 windows remotely using the key fob buttons. I can't remember what I did to programme this, but found it on the internet somewhere, maybe even a guide on this forum if you go looking.

I think on the zetec trim models the window switches are only one touch on drivers side. Ghia has almost every extra.

Make sure you windows are fully closed then hold the button down (up button) for 10-30 seconds. If that dont work you havnt got one touch on that window

I reprogrammed my zetec without success so im guessing there must be some other changes needed, be interesting if we could get a titanium owner to take the door apart and take some photos / record part numbers wiring etc, it cant be that hard perhaps even just a switch change?

Wish i still had my old titanium, i'd of stole the switches haha!

Ive got manual mirrors on my zetec s. If i want to change ti electric. Id have to change the mirrors. Get wring loom. Switch. And diffrent gem module. Some gem modules dont hold the information and its not a case of re-programming it. You have to change t complete with a diffrent module. The same goes for windows.

Yes on my focus its just the driver side that has one touch down. I would like to get the passenger side window to go one touch down. So I had thought of getting another drivers side switch from the scrappies and installing it into the slot for the passenger side window switch on drivers door.

Don't know of it would work but will give it a go sometime. Not sure how you could work it to get both one touch up as well.

Im talking to a brick wall here...

To be fair, installing electric mirrors which doesn't have a loom etc, essentially installing something it was never designed for in that model is a little different from seeing if a electric window which does have at least partial support for auto down on one window can be enabled on (A) the passenger window and (B) + Auto up on one or both. The fact the drivers window has partial support suggests it may be worth a look. It may be just a switch change or a motor, "Global window up/down" is a different matter, this would need GEM support as various modules will need to talk which would be a bigger pain in the bum.

A window is after all, a switch a motor and a piece of glass and somewhere in there is some built in safely measures, im not sure what level of coms would be needed with the GEM outside of power supply.

Maybe it is impossible tut hey, isn't poking around in stuff we dont know half the fun of it? :D

I'm hearing you kevzs ;-)
