      I was unaware of the method for utilising one of those blanking plugs until I bought one this week for 'evaluation and research'. I wouldn't recommend something here until I was sure of the facts. T

      Easy on a mk2. Fit a second hidden power socket behind the dash (I can make a loom if needed) and plug in an usb jobby then find a usb to mini usb cable and attach to the doohicky I linked above. Se

    Stoney, did you think about using this type of cable - http://www.ebay.com/itm/161132397465 which could save on the 12V socket and USB plug especially if space is tight. I'm sure they do the ends in mini and micro USB femaile sockets as well if thats what you need. You would just need to cut off the existing Ford connector and splice the cables together. Just a thought as another option.

    I was going from my experiences with my car when compiling the project.

    That item would be a neat way to tap into the 12v feed behind the console.
