Featured Replies

So I've got my first service on 19th august, this is the first time I have got a service on a car so what should I expect? It a 63 fiesta zetec. Thanks

Oil. Oil filter. Air filter. Spark plugs. That would be a small service. Don't think they would be doing much more as it's only a year old.

You should have a service book/section of your manual which will tell you what needs servicing and when. As it's a first service they won't be doing a whole lot. My guess would be Oil and filters. Spark plugs are done every major.

Try using Etis, it'll give you the full rundown on the service. Here's my ST due in in November

So, basically about 2 hours work tops if you don't give them anything else to look at.

Lol is the cambelt really every 10 years? Was trying to find that, must be a record

Apparently so matt, and can imagine it being a pricey job - isn't it inside the unit and submerged in oil

It is, will cost a fortune. On a clio rs model it's currently around £800 as need to do the aux belts and other crap at the same time otherwise if they break the belt needs doing again. Wouldn't surprise me of Ford made it difficult like that. No room either probably needs the drive shafts pulling to tip the engine a bit as well as taking the bumper and lights out.

My son has a clio sport and just had the cam belt done quoted £1100 by Renault £900 by a Renault specialist but got it done for £440 by our local trusted garage.

Just got a Haynes workshop manual for the 998cc ecoboost engine and the cambelt does not look much more difficult to change than other f-w-d Ford engines,a few more bolts etc but nothing a half decent mechanic can't do with a bit of time and patience.

I didn't realise the Haynes manual for ecoboost was out, might get that

This isn't even on the Haynes website site.. I'd also like to know where you purchased.

The manual i have is for the Focus but it covers the 998 3 cylinder motor.I got it off E-Bay from "Gerris" @ a cost of £14 inc P&P.

The manual no is 5632.
