Sudden Loss Of Power , 1.6Tdci

Featured Replies

Driving back from dropping son home n all of a sudden I have a loss of power, car seems really hesitant and there's more of a whooosshh sound when revs are higher. Turbo still has the normal whistle its always had. Could it be a leak somewhere. Done a couple recordings when stationary if it helps. :-/ will post up shortly once I add them to lappy

anyone??? :( going to have a butchers around tomorrow for anything that looks split, dont really know where to begin and what im looking for though :(

Had a look around and think I found the culprit. The pipe in the picture seems very loose which I can't imagine being normal. and the whoosh sound does seem to come from roughly that side.

If I'm right where do I go from here??

Is the jubilee clip meant to hold that in place/tight?

anyone?? going to garage i usually go, if i could get possible confirmation that its this whats wrong will probs save me some time, any input is well appreciated

I would undo said clip and inspect the pipe for any splitting,if it is then replace it ,if not see if you can seat the pipe and tighten the clip up and see if it makes the whoosh sound again.....

thats what im hoping it is, its the only pipe i can see that not looking a bit dodge, everything else seems very tight n no splits, its just a bugger with how dirty it is, i'll have to attack it with tissue first, thankyou for reply :)
