Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows if puddle lights (approach lights) in the power fold door mirrors were ever available as standard in the mark 7 2008-2012 Fiesta? Cheers :)

Nope, its a new gadget on the mk7.5 to make us mk7'ers fill with hate.

LOL thought so. I've got a pair now from a 7.5 to fit on mine.

You'll have to let us know if it's plug and play, any loom issues or needing ECU magic applying.

It's not plug and play. The existing loom in mine is an 8 pin plug, and the new mirrors have a 10 pin plug/connector. So some rewiring will be needed.

The puddle lights aren't something that jumps out at you, they are very subtle, I dont even notice them.
The power fold function is alot more useful though.

But it's a gadget, and all gadgets are good! :OD

  • 3 weeks later...

Have now added them to my MK7 and am really impressed at the brightness of them considering how small the led units are.

It wasn't the easiest...the new mirrors have a 10 pin plug and old ones have an 8 pin plug. So that needed re-plumbing. And then the extra two wires (for the puddle lights) needed wiring in - earth and courtesy light feed. I didn't do it, a friend did it for me...but basically that's what needed to be done. Physically the are exactly the same size and fittings as the original ones.
