Smarti
I live in Prague, and 4 days ago picked up 2008 2.0 TDCi S-Max Titanium. Drove it home, fine. Took it to work yesterday, fine. Went to go home, wouldn't start. Helpful guy at the garage close to work got it started. Then he checked that alternator was charging the battery - all ok. Drove home for about 30 mins. This morning, nothing, dead. I'm assuming it's just a flat battery issue? But, is there a chance that I am leaving something 'on' that is draining the battery while car is not used? The handbook is unfortunately in Dutch so not much use! Plan on taking it to Ford dealer to get everything checked over (when I get it started !!). Appreciate any ideas? ...Thanks ;)
137699
You need a software update. This is a very common fault on the early s-max- cured by software update.

137699
Should be free - if you argue long/hard enough - it's covered in a TSB article which is Ford's internal admission that the vehicle was shipped with an inherent fault - you may have to put in a complaint to Ford Customer Services to get them to help with or cover the cost. In any case, it's only a software update - should take around 15-30 mins max to apply.
