Jonnyb
Hi guys i'm new here. Just bought a 2000 escort 1.8TD i was running a reno megane DCI, never again though. I would like some Ford expertise on this matter if possible. The escort drives ok but on acceleration it tends to pull to the right and when i let off it goes back to the left a bit like torque steer i suppose, but can't see it being that on a Diesel unless i'm wrong as usual. Cheers Jon.

Jonnyb
I don't think they are but i'll check, it seems to pull ok power wise, does your focus pull to one side with torque?

Jonnyb
as far as i'm aware mine is just std, and it pulls quite a bit to the right on acceleration seems to ever so slightly lift as well then when i left off the power it goes back to left its weird. Jonnyb
No doesn't seem any, but think i better jack front end up and check bearings etc.. tbh I've never had a car do it before I didn't know if it was a common fault on escorts. AJRTDDI
It gets overlooked on older cars sadly. If it was my car is check all bushes and balljoints then brakes and carriers. If all that is fine I'd look for accident damage. Sent from my HTC One X using Ford OC mobile app

vinnyvangough
99% it will be your lower arm bushes. Common as muck fault. Jack it up and I bet you'll find the rubbers are shot. Easier to buy 2 new complete arms than go through the hassle of changing the bushes. Cheap and easily changed in an hour or 2.
