Air Conditioning L/p Port Location

Featured Replies

Hello all I am after some reliable information as internet searching isn't proving very well and quite vague. Will someone be able to tell me where the low pressure refill port for the air conditioning is. I've seen pics of older Ford's with the fill port begins the forward right hand wheel arch. Will it be the same on my car being as it's 3.5 years of age?

pictures would be handy.

Many Thanks

Ryan

The low pressure port is the one near the firewall on the drivers side.

The high pressure port is under the driver side headlight.

So to fill it I'll just use the low pressure. I won't need the big pressure side? whats the high pressure side for. won't nerd to touch that right during the process?

you can recharge through either port but if able using both ports in my opinion gives a better result but plenty work fine if charged through one :D :driving:

How do I use both ports. I've only seen people in general use only one port. I'd imagine the high pressure port will be a different thread diameter so I'll need to get an adapter to accept a different port size? Or it maybe cheaper to get someone to do it for me instead as some places only charge 49 to do it.

Definitely best to get it done professionally.

You'll get it drained, pressure/leak tested and refilled/lubricated.

Home refills are hit and miss, if you have a leaky seal or aircon rad then you'll just be venting the gas right back out again.

As Clive says its far better to pay for a professional service and get it vacuumed , leak tested, re oiled and re gassed. :D :driving:
