Jamie__R
Hi I have bought a focus mk3 and have noticed an issue with the rear lights. When I open it the lights come on. On one side the strip light in the middle comes on and not the bottom bulb. On the other side it is the bottom light that comes on and not the strip?? Is this a wiring fault or is there something I can do to fix? Cheers Jamie
jimrex
The lights come on when you unlock and/or open a door. On mine, the LED strips on both sides light up. The halogen bulb is the fog lamp. I'm not 100% certain, but I'm sure if a tail lamp fails (i.e. your LED strip) the fog light operates at a lower intensity to temporarily replace it. Have you checked it operates normally with the headlights on? An LED should last a while but would guess a new LED strip would require new lamp cluster and they aren't cheap, so make sure you get it under warranty if you still can :) Sent from my iPad using Ford OC
itsrelfy
Defiantly get it back to the dealer. My brother had to have his front one replaced under warranty as there was a fault. It's a whole cluster and the front apparently costs 700 quid!!!
Jamie__R
Cheers It's the same when lights on. Was supposed to be a new light cluster as it was broken when I first viewed it. Will go back to the dealers. Thanks
