Reattaching External Door Handle

The window regulator had broken in my sons Fiesta (it's a mk6 2006 Fiesta Style). We took the panel office and managed to fit the new regulator.

When putting everything back together however we struggled to fit the outside door handle. Is there a technique to do this as we managed to get it on fairly loosely but it just keeps pulling off.

I don't recall there being any screws which held it in place. All i remember was a nut which was fitted under the handle which held the locking mechanism in place.

Any advice would be great as at the moment there's no handle fitted so he has to climb over from the passenger side to get in.

On the plus side the window now works great :D
