Newuser
I recently got the fuel line (from the fuel filter) replaced by a local garage on my Focus 1.8 Diesel (Duratorq engine). The garage used a Ford approved spare part. When I checked the work it looks like the fuel line passes very close to the engine block (at the point where the line moves from horizontal to vertical as it leaves the fuel filter). There as also a small length of foam with a tie-wrap which was removed from the old section - I'm not sure where this should be located. Is there a diagram I can refer to which shows the correct routing of the fuel line and position of the foam section?
stef123
The fuel line should be clipped to the bulkhead on the vertical run, keeping it away from the engine. I've no idea where the foam goes though.
Newuser
There's no clip at this position. The fuel line has a radius between horizontal to vertical as it curves round an edge on the engine block. I'm wondering if the foam should be positioned on the radius incase the fuel line moves and touches the engine at this location.
