Egr Blaking Plate Help

Hi all

Have just fitted a EGR blanking plate on my 2008 tdci 2.0 Focus

And now keep getting the code P0490 ( Exhaust Gas Recirculation Control Circuit High)

Any help out there please ??

where you having issues before you blanked it off? im not very well clued up with all this but from what I understand, if you have a problem, blanking it wont fix it, something to do with it sticking open or closed... if its cool to start with then blanking it will stop it going wrong

Have you tried resetting the error using an elm327 or diagnostic scanner?

Once an error is logged you need to remove it using a diagnostic scanner,

Given a couple of weeks the car learns to accept blanking is king and stops errors,

Was there another location further back stream where you could fit the blanking plate post sensors, before it reaches the pressure sensor,

When blanked all exhaust gasses flow out the exhaust,

They will however flow as far as the blanking plate but never recirculate when blanked,

If there is an option to fit the blanking plate further back in the pipeline before sensors this will eliminate high pressure build up around the sensor location,
