Mk1 - Electric Window Not Working

Featured Replies

Hi Folks, First post so be gentle :)

I just got my girlfriend an 02 focus zetec, the drivers side electric window does not work, the previous owner did mention it, im capable of fixing this with the right if i just find out the cause. Is it likely to be a motor or perhaps a relay. All going well i can get the part off ebay second hand.

I think your right its going to be the motor, possibly the switch or maybe a connector or wiring.

There is no relay. Do you have front and rear power windows or just front ?

I have not checked the rears but i only have the 2 window switches on the front door so im assuming its just the 2 thats electric.

Looks like you have front power only then.

4 power window models have 2 separate fuses and 1 powers the LHS of the car and the other the RHS.

Front only has just the 1 fuse.

Ah i see. It may come to just taking the motor of and having a fiddle but i was hoping there is might be a common problem.
