Autolock

Featured Replies

Still waiting for my new ZS to arrive (ford taking their time as usual) anyway I'm driving my mums 2013 Zetec at the moment and wondered wether there is an autolock feature that you can enable. On my old '02 clio I liked how it locked the doors at about 10mph and sort of got used to it so was wondering if the fiesta is capable of doing it from some hidden settings screen or something.

As far as I'm aware there isn't, just have to click the locked button :/

I don't think there is either, it's be a good feature to have though :)

Cheers guys, I guess its not too much of a hardship clicking one button just thought there would be something like this

Yeah It would be good to have to be fair, but I'm sure there's not a button or setting to do it

All we have is the button under the stereo to lock all the doors

The Auto lock feature has been phased out on all cars built from 2007 onwards,

The European safety crew had issues with autolock there claims were they didnt always unlock in the event of colission making it more difficult for emergency services,

Some cars such as tge focus mk2.5 were designed in 2005 before this rule came in to force,

So the software on the mk2.5 allowed this autolock feature,

It is possible to activate using a modified ELM327.

However all cars built from scratch 2007 onwards wont have autolock feature.

You can still press the button to lock all doors,

Or

Fit an aftermarket alarm system which supports the feature,

But no car will roll off the production line with autolock ever again.
