Fiesta Mk6 1.4 Style Coolant Leak

Featured Replies

My fiesta mk6 1.4 style has a coolant leak coming from a gasket and two hoses goin into the block. The car has only done 58000 miles and no problems before, why now? My mechanic has solved the problem with radiator leak fix, is this a common issue with these cars?

Your mechanic has bodged it. I would never put any radiator fix in my car as it masks other potential issues.

He should have stripped it and fitted a new gasket, this problem can occur even on new cars of any make not just Ford.

As above, any additive like that is totally unprofessional IMO.

Is the leak coming from the thermostat housing? These are known on any car to leak eventually.

He's used k seal and tightened up a couple of bolts that weren't up to the correct torque. K seal has worked on his modified 560bhp focus rs...that was 4 years ago...
