2000 Focus Ac Gremlins

Featured Replies

Howdy all. Having a slight issue with the 2000 Focus.

Specifically with the AC's electrical.

First off-The Blower Fan Works as it should in all 4 settings.

The issue is the AC is not giving cold air. The AC light on the switch panel will light on Fan speed 1, but not on Fan speed 2,3, or 4. Again, the fan runs at the correct speeds on all three settings, but no cold air.

The heater core function works fine. As does the temp control box. I can hear the actuator arm moving inside so I don't think the air temp control door is malfunctioning.

The AC circuit is charged and not leaking. The AC compressor runs fine if i use a jumper to engage the compressor clutch. With the ignition off, the compressor clutch power lead does read to ground, not sure if it's supposed to be go to ground when not activated or if its supposed to be netural.

Plugged a code reader and there was no codes related to the AC or HVAC system (no codes at all actually).

Someone mentioned the resistor pack could be the culprit, but wanted to check with all you experts first before I go blindly replacing electrical components.
