hi , ive just purchased a 06 reg focus 1.6 petrol , it has been stood for 6 months with a flat battery and will not start , would the immobiliser have anything to do with this ?????

Naturally a new battery in car and key fob to be safe, in theory lock car unlock car and it should turnover and start. :D :driving:

tried this already with no luck, put new battery on car and in fob ,the immobiliser light just keeps flashing and it now says engine system fault on dash , the old couple I bought it off said it was perfect when they stopped using it in feb this year , he stopped driving due to health problems and just left it on his drive ???

Have you another key to try ? Have you access to a diagnostic machine ? someone close to you on here maybe ? :D :driving:
