Staring Issue Mk7 1.6 Zetec S

Featured Replies

Hi everyone had my car nearly 3 weeks now and it's been fine but this morning when I got in the car turned ignition on and everything was fine but once I'd got down my hill and went to accelerate the car was very hesitant and I had to keep short shifting as there was no top end power.... once it had warmed up sat at the traffic lights it was fine.

Any suggestions as to the cause? not exactly a cold start at 13 degrees this morning.

Got it booked in at Ford to get the steering issue and excessive brake pedal travel sorted so I'd like to know if anyone can shed light on why it would do this? then I can also give them another thing to look at...

I know a common problem that was similar to this on my old car was the thermostat but surely on a 2 year old car that's only done 16800 things shouldn't be starting to go already....

Bit annoyed that the most expensive car I've bought and the newest seems to have the most problems compared to all the other 10 year+ cars I've bought....

anyone? can't be the only person to have this happen?

If the car is only 2 years old and you have just bought it these things will be covered by the sellers warranty so really you shouldn't have to ask on a forum to be honest unless you bought it privately? But there should still be balance of manufacturers warranty?

Yea I can get it looked at under warranty but I'd rather be able to point them in the right direction rather than them wasting time and potentially delaying getting my car back
