    Well, FoMoCo is Ford Motoring Company, other than that, I've nothing. Is that a wire or hose attatching it? Could it be an outside air temperature sensor? It does look like it should clip on somewhere. Try looking around locations where it can reach for some sort of witness marks.

    Don't know what a transmission breather is but sorted.

    Muppets in days swansea must have left it off

    At operating temperatures your transmission (gearbox) builds up pressure, the vent releases the pressure so that the seals remain intact and don't start to leak.
