Focus Interior Design And Upgrades.

Featured Replies

I know that the 2010 + focus came with silver handles inside the door trim.

Are these stainless steel or plastic?

Also I was think about buying the stainless steel sticker effect template from a guy Lenny linked to a while back who does laser cut stuff.

Has any body got images of these on their focus just to give an idea what they look like installed?

My other idea is instead of changing the entire door card i was thinking of painting them silver hence why I wanted to know if the original ford ones where plastic or stain less steel.

If anyone has done anything like this please do post a PIC as I would be interested to see how it turns out.

Also

Has any one got the focus glove box strip installed?

The only place I can find these are from the same guy Lenny talked about who laser cuts the parts.

I also came across these are these any good for interior or around the outside grills?

Metalised plastic as far as I can tell. Pretty sure they are not solid metal

Its a pitty they can't be changed without having to swap the whole door card over.

I think I may try my hand at painting them up.

If done right they may turn out OK that way I could also do the back ones to match as I don't think the 2010+ focus have the back ones done just the front.

Sorry mate was thinking you were on about the door opening handles that you use to open. The door from the inside.

The silver part that surrounds the leccy window switches etc is painted/laquered plastic. Same finish as the trim round the drink holder/gear stick on the centre console.

The rears are just black with no silver as you said.

Thanks for the reply mate I was wondering there for a moment lol!

i guess that they could be painted up alright to match the trim around the cd, gear stick ect. I will try to source our the correct color of paint and take things from there.

Probably Need:

1) Sand Paper

2)Plastic primer

3) actual colour (probably stain finish)

4)Maybe a top coat to protect from scratches ect.

probable be like finding a needle in a haystack lol! :)
