Sangster
Hi I am new to the ford owners club , but happy to be a member. My question is actually in 3 parts, as topic suggests I have just fitted a no name touch screen to my, Ford focus 2010 1.6 sport. 1: Time on stereo is always 1 hour behind. I have set time zone etc but still reverts to 1 hour behind. 2: Buttons on stereo do not light up when I put on my side lights. 3: Steering controls do not work through stereo , it has a canbus fitted. Any help suggestions with all or some of the above will be very much appreciated.
tomtom70
1) Daylight savings time? 2)+3) Illumination and steering wheel controls are not on CAN bus in a 2010 Focus, but discrete signals (dedicated wires).
Sangster
Thanks for the reply tomtom70. What do you mean by daylight savings time? and do you know which colour wires the lights and steering controls are. So much for plug n play.
tomtom70
The wires will be black like all the rest. Description of the pinout should be available on the forum. DST is the American expression for summer time (BST) - a Chinese unit is more likely to use DST.
Sangster
Thanks tomtom70 for explaining , i will look these up on the forum and hopefully get sorted. Thanks again for your help.
troy45
I fitted one of these recently to my 2010 ST - the steering wheel controls worked straight off without having to set anything up but I also had the time setting itself an hour out even after setting time zone to +0.00 hrs. Probably is linked to the unit not catering for British Summer Time (ps where's summer gone??) To get round it I just picked the next time zone to offset it by an hour and that sorted it just fine :) Can't say what the lighting does on side lights as mine just stay set on auto headlights. I know mine doesn't change illumination in line with the dimming switch but it doesn't really bother me enough to try digging into it. Stoney871
Did you fit a stereo to controller interface? I have a quadlock pinout diagram somewhere, will post it up asap.

Sangster
Thanks troy45 i will set the clock as you say and see if that does the trick. Its just a bit annoying when everything else works fine , even fitted reverse camera and this works ok. The thing is with these units is the lack of clear instuctions. Thanks again for your help. Sangster
please excuse the spelling of instructions.
Sangster
Thanks Stoney871 i would appreciate a pinout diagram as nothing to go by at the moment. As i said previously the instructions with these units are poor , so its more plug and sort it as you go. The steering controls do beep when pressed , just do not change anything. Thanks again for your reply.
